Cameron Funfest Bar-B-Que Shootout - August 16 & 17
The Cameron PD BBQ Shootout is held at Wilson-Ledbetter Park. Join in the fun for this two-day event with activities including the BBQ Competition, a Beer & Brat Trot 5K, Kid Fish, Arts & Crafts, Horseshoe & Washers Tournaments, and free live music during the Party in the Park.
Steaktober Fest & Steak Cookoff - October 12
Enjoy a day on the historic downtown square for local featured artists, hand-crafted items, antiques and collectibles. This year there is a 5k Steak, Stein & Wine Run, and Aggieland Safari's Petting Zoo. Visit the three historical museums and Old Town Cameron Railroad Museum for activities and speakers. the Steak Cookoff is a SCA sanctioned event. Explore the Classic Car Show, games for the whole family including Giant Jenga, Corn Hole Tournament, Kube, Washers Tournament, and more. Sample from our local wineries and breweries and the farm-to-table Steak Dinner featuring 44 Farms Ribeyes under a lighted tent. Warehouse of Horrors
The First Street Warehouse of Horrors is an annual Halloween fundraising event for Milam County Crime Stoppers. The Warehouse of Horrors has won various accolades and is listed as one of the top haunted house attractions in Texas.
Christmas Parade - December 5
The Cameron Christmas Parade is held every December. The Parade route winds around downtown Cameron, so every street corner becomes a prime viewing spot. Participants include numerous clubs, churches, businesses, and marching bands from the surrounding area. Get your photo taken with Santa at the Old Town Cameron Train Museum.
Cameron Chamber of Commerce Christmas Classic - December 27 & 28
Every year in December, the Cameron Chamber of Commerce hosts a high school basketball tournament called the Christmas Classic. Many teams from central Texas are invited to compete. The event offers players a chance to develop their skills, and provides an economic boost to the community.
The 4-H program is very active in Milam County. Cameron youth participate in 4-H activities year round. Every March, the Milam County 4-H hosts the Junior Livestock Show at the Youth Exposition Building.
